Love, a harmony of contradiction…

Contradiction: The Foundation of Creation

Introduction

In this fascinating conversation, Aasaan M. Senthamizhan explores the deeper meaning of contradiction and challenges the common perception that contradictions are inherently negative.

Most people associate contradiction with disagreement, conflict, opposition, or incompatibility. However, Aasaan presents a radically different perspective. He argues that contradiction is not merely a social or psychological phenomenon but the very foundation of creation itself.

Drawing examples from nature, the five elements, the relationship between water and heat, human relationships, love, conflict, and spiritual growth, he explains that everything in existence is born out of the harmony of opposing forces. According to him, contradictions are not enemies to be overcome but essential partners in the process of life.

Key Insights from the Conversation

1. Contradiction Is the Basis of All Creation

Aasaan begins by stating that all creation emerges through contradiction.

Nothing can exist, move, grow, or produce results without opposing forces interacting with one another.

He explains that:

  • Positive and negative forces coexist.
  • Opposing elements create energy.
  • Contradictory forces generate movement.
  • Creation itself is born through these interactions.

Without contradiction:

  • There is no energy.
  • There is no transformation.
  • There is no creation.

2. Contradictions Are Not Enemies

One of the core messages of the discussion is that contradictions should not be viewed as rivals.

Instead, they are:

  • Guides
  • Teachers
  • Companions
  • Sources of growth

Aasaan encourages people to actively seek contradictions rather than avoid them.

"You must love contradictions."

According to him, life becomes richer and more meaningful when we learn from what opposes us rather than fearing it.

3. Nature Demonstrates the Power of Contradictions

Aasaan uses natural examples to explain how contradictory forces work together.

He discusses:

  • Water and heat
  • Blood circulation
  • Sunlight and life on Earth
  • The interaction of elements

For example:

  • Water requires heat to flow.
  • Heat requires water to sustain life.
  • Sun and Earth cooperate through opposing characteristics.

The beauty of creation lies not in uniformity but in the harmonious relationship between differing forces.

4. Every Human Being Is a Contradiction to Another

Aasaan extends this principle to human relationships.

Every person is unique.

  • Different body
  • Different mind
  • Different experiences
  • Different perspectives

Because people are different, they naturally become contradictions to one another.

But this difference should not be feared.

Instead, he suggests that every person possesses qualities, ideas, and strengths that can nourish our own growth.

Just as nature thrives through complementary opposites, human beings grow through meaningful encounters with differing viewpoints.

5. See Beyond Behaviors

A significant insight in the conversation is the distinction between a person and their behavior.

Aasaan advises listeners to:

  • Ignore surface behaviors.
  • Ignore temporary emotions.
  • Ignore social masks.

Instead:

See a person as a person.

He describes behaviors and appearances as forms of maya or illusion.

The real essence of a person lies beneath these visible layers.

By seeing beyond the surface, one begins to understand the deeper contradictions that contribute to growth and understanding.

6. Contradictions Create Learning

According to Aasaan, personal development occurs when we absorb useful elements from opposing viewpoints.

He compares this to the way nature absorbs and transforms different energies.

Rather than defending our existing beliefs, we should:

  • Listen
  • Observe
  • Learn
  • Absorb

Every contradiction contains something valuable that can strengthen us.

7. Trust and Doubt Both Create Dependence

One of the more striking observations in the discussion concerns trust and doubt.

Aasaan says:

"Never trust anyone. Never doubt anyone."

His point is not to reject relationships but to cultivate independence.

According to him:

  • Excessive trust creates dependency.
  • Excessive doubt destroys peace of mind.

Instead of living through trust or suspicion, we should understand others for what they are: unique individuals who contribute to our growth through their differences.

8. Love Emerges from Pure Contradiction

Aasaan presents a unique perspective on love.

He argues that genuine love arises from acknowledging and respecting differences.

Love is not:

  • Possession
  • Dependency
  • Expectation

Love is the recognition that:

  • We are different.
  • We remain different.
  • Yet we choose to coexist harmoniously.

When contradictions remain pure and free from hidden agendas, love naturally arises.

"You and I are different, yet we choose to walk together."

This, according to Aasaan, is the essence of true love.

9. Conflict Is Different from Contradiction

One of the most important distinctions made in the conversation is between contradiction and conflict.

Contradictions are natural and necessary.

Conflicts are merely by-products of contradictions.

Aasaan describes conflicts as:

  • Losses in the process of creation.
  • Shedding unnecessary emotions.
  • Removal of incompatible elements.

Just as nature discards what cannot harmonize, human relationships also undergo periods of conflict to eliminate what does not serve growth.

10. Conflict Can Lead to Stronger Relationships

Aasaan observes that disagreements often remove accumulated emotional burdens.

After conflicts:

  • Hidden emotions surface.
  • Misunderstandings are released.
  • Greater clarity emerges.

Provided that the underlying contradiction remains pure and respectful, conflict can actually strengthen relationships rather than destroy them.

This is why many close relationships become more resilient after honest disagreements.

11. Harmony Is the Goal

The ultimate purpose of understanding contradiction is the creation of harmony.

Harmony does not mean:

  • Agreement on everything.
  • Absence of differences.
  • Elimination of conflict.

Harmony means:

  • Respecting differences.
  • Learning from opposites.
  • Integrating complementary strengths.
  • Living without fear of contradiction.

According to Aasaan, the entire universe operates through such harmony.

Human beings can do the same.

Memorable Quotes

"Contradictions are the basis of creation."

"You must love contradictions."

"A human is a human, not merely his behavior."

"Everything is created by the harmony of contradictions."

"Never trust anyone. Never doubt anyone."

"Love comes out of pure contradiction."

"Conflicts are the losses in creation."

"You should seek contradictions and not worry about conflicts."

Conclusion

This conversation invites us to completely rethink our understanding of contradiction.

Rather than viewing contradictions as obstacles, Aasaan encourages us to recognize them as the driving force behind growth, learning, love, and creation itself.

Every meaningful relationship, every transformation in nature, and every act of creation emerges from the meeting of differing forces. The problem is not contradiction; the problem is our inability to perceive its purpose.

By seeing beyond behaviors, embracing differences, learning from opposing viewpoints, and understanding conflict as a natural process of refinement, we move closer to harmony both within ourselves and with others.

The central message of the conversation is simple yet profound:

Do not fear contradictions. Love them, learn from them, and allow them to become the source of your growth, wisdom, and harmony.

Lavanya

Hello everyone.

Today we are here to discuss another important topic: Contradiction.

I have Aasan with me.

Welcome, Aasan.

Happy to be here in person in Semmai and having a conversation with you face to face.

I will go straight to the point.

My question is that I want to explore more about contradictions.

What is contradiction and where does it come from?

Aasaan M. Senthamizhan

It's actually a pleasure to have you here in our Semmai Aasaan Palli.

The topic is very interesting.

Contradiction is the base of creations.

All creations are manifested only with the basis of contradictions.

Let me make it simple.

In Tamil we have a term "Muran."

Muran is not the exact equivalent of contradiction but more or less both carry similar values.

You have positive on one side and negative on the other side.

These are contradictions.

Without these contradictory elements:

  • no energy,
  • no effect,
  • no result,

and nothing will be yielded.

These are the basic ideas of contradiction.

We must understand that contradictions are not rival ideas.

Rather, they are your guides and closest associates in leading a peaceful life.

You must love contradictions.

You must seek contradictions everywhere.

Without contradiction, you cannot even be alive for a single moment.

Your blood is basically a liquid.

Liquids emerge from the element of water.

Among the five elements, water is one of them.

All liquids are some form of manifestation of the water element.

Chemical components contradict one another and produce liquid from water.

I am using the term water as an element and not merely drinking water.

As an element, water itself contains various contradictory elements within it.

These contradictions create propositions.

These contradictions carry various chemical values.

When those propositions change, rain emerges from the water element.

The results are countless.

Imagine if water remained exactly as it is without allowing contradictory chemical changes within itself.

What would emerge from water?

Nothing.

Water would remain merely an element.

There would not even be a single drop of rain.

Take blood circulation in our body.

Blood is a liquid.

For blood to flow smoothly, the water element within it must have proper contradictory elements.

One of the major propositions is heat.

We call this Pitham.

When blood loses heat, circulation is affected.

It begins moving toward freezing.

To flow freely and smoothly, water requires heat.

This is the basic idea of contradiction.

Without heat there is no watery element.

Without watery elements there is no need for heat on Earth.

Water contains fractions of heat.

When the sun spreads heat toward Earth, those heat waves grasp watery molecules from space.

Only then do they produce greenery and life.

Sun rays carry water elements.

Water carries heat elements.

Isn't that a beautiful idea of creation?

Lavanya

Exactly.

Why should we hate contradictions then?

Aasaan M. Senthamizhan

We should love contradictions.

But the real question is:

What should we do when contradictions dance before us through various human activities and psychological expressions?

People easily accept truth from chemistry and physics.

They rarely accept truth from life.

You know why?

Because human behavior itself becomes a veil.

It hides truth from our sight.

You should remove that veil.

Enter the arena of truth by moving beyond behaviors, irrational actions, and human nonsense.

Ignore those activities.

Look at every human being simply as a human being.

Not through their actions.

Not through their words.

A human is a human.

A man is a man.

A woman is a woman.

Simply look at them.

They are your contradictions.

Why?

Because they are different from you.

You have your body and mind.

They have theirs.

Because we are different, we are contradictions.

If you consider yourself as the element of water, you must accept that another person carries elements of heat.

You need those contradictory elements.

You can absorb them.

That nourishment strengthens you.

You strengthen yourself by absorbing contradictory ideas from others.

Then you become capable of creating something new, just as water manifests different forms by interacting with sunlight.

Always see yourself as an element.

Never think of yourself as weak or strong.

Among the five elements, none are weak and none are strong.

If heat alone dominates, there is no life.

If water alone dominates, there is no life.

Nothing is stronger.

Nothing is weaker.

Everything carries its own contradictory essence.

Everything in this universe absorbs opposite and contradictory values to sustain existence.

That is how creation manifests through Ammai.

Lavanya

Then where do confusion and depression arise?

Aasaan M. Senthamizhan

You look at society.

You look at people.

Their behaviors irritate you.

Sometimes they frighten you.

Sometimes they confuse you.

We call those appearances Maya.

Do you think leaves are truly green?

That greenness itself is Maya.

Inside, they hold something different.

Every leaf is not merely green.

Every rose is not merely a rose.

Likewise, every person is not exactly what they express outwardly.

You must develop the vision to see what is inside.

And what exists inside?

The Mandram of Muran.

The field of contradiction.

When you understand contradictions and their inner power, you will know how to absorb what you need and make yourself better.

That is how growth happens.

Everything is created through the harmony of contradictions.

The harmony of contradictions is the basic principle of creation.

When the tiny Earth can harmonize with the gigantic Sun and become home to countless forms of life, why can't human beings harmonize with one another?

Why can't you live with children, leaders, professionals, friends, and relatives?

It is not difficult.

It is actually simple.

But first you must remove all preconceived notions and inherited beliefs.

Many beliefs teach you to trust and depend on others.

I always say:

Never trust anyone. Never doubt anyone.

If you trust someone, you become dependent.

If you doubt someone, you lose your peace of mind.

Do neither.

Remain independent.

Others are neither objects of trust nor suspicion.

They are contradictions.

And within those contradictions lie strengths that can help you grow.

Lavanya

You also spoke about love arising from contradiction.

Could you explain that?

Aasaan M. Senthamizhan

Love comes out of pure contradiction.

When contradiction is pure, love arises.

When contradiction becomes impure through hidden agendas and expectations, love weakens.

You and I are different.

You have your ideas.

I have mine.

Yet I can love you.

That is purity.

You and I are different, yet we choose to walk together.

That is love.

But if we are only together because of expectations, then contradiction is absent.

And where contradiction is absent, love becomes weak.

Strong contradictions attract.

They create many possibilities.

This is how we must understand love.

Lavanya

Then why is there always conflict?

How do we understand conflict in relation to contradiction?

Aasaan M. Senthamizhan

When water receives sunlight, not every molecule forms a harmonious structure.

Some are lost.

Not every seed becomes a tree.

Conflict is a loss within creation.

Nothing is perfect.

Nothing is absolute.

Every step of creation sheds losses.

Not every ray creates life.

Some are lost.

Likewise, when you and I have conflict, something is being shed.

You have emotions I disagree with.

I have emotions you disagree with.

Those things must be lost.

Without conflict, we keep carrying them endlessly.

Conflict removes them.

If we never conflict, we simply pretend with one another.

Conflict allows unnecessary emotions to leave.

After that, what remains?

A stronger bond.

A greater harmony.

This is especially true when contradiction remains pure.

When people truly understand and respect their differences, conflict becomes a refining process rather than a destructive one.

Conflicts are merely tiny particles within the larger reality of contradiction.

Seek contradiction.

Do not fear conflict.

Conflict is temporary.

Contradiction is fundamental.

Love contradictions.

Learn from them.

Do not become trapped by surface-level emotions, behaviors, and words.

Those are merely veils.

Go beyond them.

See the contradiction beneath them.

That is where truth resides.

Lavanya

We may still have conflicts, but they disappear when contradictions are understood in their pure form.

Aasaan M. Senthamizhan

Exactly.

Lavanya

Thank you so much.

This was a very long and insightful conversation.

Generally, we think contradictions are negative or undesirable.

Understanding contradiction as a basic principle of creation, and learning how to recognize true contradiction within ourselves and others, offers a completely different perspective.

There is a lot to understand and a lot to absorb.

Thank you for your time.

We will meet again and continue this conversation at a deeper level.

Aasaan M. Senthamizhan

Sure, Lavanya.

We will have more conversations when you are here in person.

Thank you.

That was a good experience for me too.

Lavanya

Thank you.
