Nothing Happens to You!

Everything happens within you. Nothing ever happens to you. You are the non-dual consciousness that is experiencing the words on this page, and yet that consciousness is so empty and spacious that nothing ever happens to it. Just as a thunderstorm passes through the sky but does not happen to the sky, every thought, feeling, desire, sensation and event happens in awareness, but does not happen to it.
This is more obvious when it comes to an external event that doesn't take place near you. A bird flying high above you or the distant sound of traffic obviously happens within the field of awareness, but it doesn't feel like these events happen to you. Yet if that bird flew right in front of your face, or that traffic was slowing you down on the highway, there is a tendency to think something is happening to you. And anything that arises within your own body and mind feels even more like something that happens to you. If a strong experience of fear or desire or confusion arises, we tend to think it has happened to us instead of within us.
The sky is unharmed by the thunderstorm, and that is why we would say the storm happened in the sky instead of to the sky. What about your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and desires? Do they harm your awareness? Or do they eventually pass like a summer rain-cloud? Is your awareness damaged by them, or is awareness still empty and awake, awaiting the next experience after a sensation, feeling, or thought passes?
Your body is within awareness. Because of its physical nature, something can happen to it that leaves a relatively lasting effect, but what about the awareness that is experiencing the body? Every sensation comes and goes in awareness. The sensations in your body are always changing and shifting, and then your attention also moves to other elements of your experience. Even a chronic painful condition is not in your awareness every moment. So even physical events or injuries do not happen to you, they happen within you. What would it mean if a sore muscle or a stomach ache was not happening to you, but just within your field of awareness? What if everything that happens within your body is just another event within the open sky of consciousness?
The most surprising thing is that this is even true of your deepest and innermost feelings and desires. There are feelings of unworthiness and intense longings that can arise deep within your chest or abdomen. It can almost seem like they are a part of you. And yet even they are happening within the field of awareness, and not really to you. What would it mean if a deep feeling of sadness or an overwhelming desire for true love was not happening to you, but just within your field of awareness? What if everything that moves within your heart and mind is just another event within the open sky of consciousness?
All experience passes like a rain-cloud and leaves behind the fresh, open space of endless awareness. The source of awareness is always here. You are always here. Everything else happens within awareness. Everything else comes and goes. There is not even a separate you within awareness because you are the source of awareness. And so, nothing happens to you; everything happens within you.

Jnana Yoga - Path of Wisdom - Part 5

Logical Method of Negation
The toy-elephant made of wood has hidden the reality WOOD when you take it for an elephant. Even so, these names and forms have concealed the Reality BRAHMAN (Absolute) behind these names and forms. Get rid of the illusion in the mind that is deep-rooted from beginning-less time. This is wood. This is not elephant. So also this is Brahman. This is not the world. This is Soul. This is not body. This is Apavada-Yukti or application of the logical method of negation. Take out the balance left that is true after throwing off the false thing, viz., elephant, wood, body, etc.
Duality is the very nature of the mind. It can never think in terms of unity. It is through mental purity and spiritual practice that it should be trained to think in terms of unity. Clay is the only reality in all the three periods of time. Pot is an unreal thing: "Vacharambhanam vikaro namadheyam mrittiketyeva satyam". - Clay only is the reality. The modifications such as jar, pot, etc., are in speech only like ornaments (Chhandogya Upanishad).
Similarly, Brahman or Soul is the only real thing, eternal Vastu which has no beginning, no end, no change. The modifications, body, mind, sense and world are all totally false. They are in name only. See the clay in all earthenware vessels. See Soul in all objects (Vision of Soul).
The cows are different. They differ in color and various other particulars. But, milk is the same. Man minus customs, manners, mode of dress and eating, is the same throughout the world. His passions and feelings are the same throughout the world. The languages are different in various districts and climes, but the idea behind all languages is the same. This is oneness behind variety, duality and multiplicity. There is one essence in sleep. All feel alike. Similarly, there is one homogeneous substance behind the objects. That is Soul. That is Brahman. That is your real Self.
There is a coconut made of sugar only. It has got marks, lines, external shell, ridges, eyes and everything. But, you have got internal feeling in the mind that it is only sugar. Similarly, even though you see the different objects of the universe, you must have a feeling and determination of the Soul that is at the bottom of all these objects, which is the ultimate reality and essence of everything.
Why do you look into the leaves, twigs, flowers, fruits of the mango tree? Look into the source, the seed. The cloth is only cotton and thread. Take the cloth as cotton only. Even so, take the world as Soul or Brahman. When you see any person or object, think and feel that he or it is Soul or God. By incessant practice, the name and form will vanish. Soul or God will shine. The world-idea will vanish. It takes a long time. It demands strenuous efforts. You will see and feel Soul or God everywhere. During the course of the practice, your old impressions will trouble you. They are your real enemies. Fight against them boldly. This is the practice of unclouded Jnana. You will have unclouded vision of Soul. You will transmute all objects into Soul. Think and feel that all actions are worship of Soul. Idea of inferiority and idea of menial service will disappear as you see God or Soul everywhere.

Samadhi - What are the types?

A Raja Yogi gets Nirodha-Samadhi through by restraining the mental modifications. A devotee gets Bhava-Samadhi through Love of the Lord. It is only the Raja Yogi who attempts the annihilation of the thought waves, the Nirodha Samadhi. A devotee sees God in all objects. He does not check the thought waves. He changes his mental attitude. It is the mind that creates all the differences and separateness. The world is all Bliss, only if you change your angle of vision, your mental attitude. You will find heaven on earth. You can bring down to normal objective consciousness a Raja Yogi or Bhakti Yogi or Jnana Yogi by mere shaking of the body or blowing a conch.
SAMADHI THROUGH HATHA YOGA
A Hatha Yogi draws all his Prana from the different parts of his body and takes it to the Sahasrara Chakra (thousand-petalled lotus) at the top of the head. Then he enters into Samadhi (super conscious state). Therefore it is very difficult to bring him down to objective consciousness by merely shaking his body. Hatha Yogis have remained buried underneath the earth in Samadhi for years together. They plug the posterior nostrils through Khechari Mudra (a king of Hatha Yogic Kriya) with their long tongues.
Prana and Apana that move in the chest and anus respectively are united by the Yogic processes of Jalandhara, Mula and Uddiyana Bandhas and the united Prana-Apana is driven into the Sushumna Nadi (central nerve) of the spinal canal. The Pranas, when thus driven, draw up the mind also along the Sushumna Nadi which is otherwise known as Brahma Nadi. During the ascent in the Sushumna Nadi, the three Granthis or knots, viz., Brahma-Granthi at Muladhara-Chakra, Vishnu-Granthi at Manipura-Chakra and Rudra-Granthi at Ajna-Chakra should be cut asunder by strenuous efforts. These knots prevent the ascent of Kundalini. Bhastrika Pranayama breaks down these knots. When Kula-Kundalini Sakti that lies dormant in the Muladhara-Chakra in the form of a coiled serpent with 3 1/2 curves or turns, with the face downwards is awakened by spiritual Practice, it ascends upwards towards Sahasrara Chakra or the thousand-petalled lotus in the crown of the head and takes along with it the mind and Prana also. When the mind is in the Sushumna, the Yogi is shut out from the objective, physical consciousness of the world. He is practically dead to the world, sees various visions and moves in the mental, ethereal space. Samadhi starts.
SAMADHI THROUGH RAJA YOGA
Deep meditation leads to Samadhi or oneness with God. If you can fix the mind for ten seconds steadily on a particular object, it is concentration. Ten such concentration become meditation. Ten such meditation form a Samadhi. The mind is filled with Soul or God. Mind loses its own consciousness and becomes identified with the object of meditation. Just as a toy made of salt melts in water, even so, the mind melts in Brahman in Nirvikalpa Samadhi. A sudden stroke of mystic illumination puts an end to all the empirical existence altogether and the very idea or remembrance of such a thing as this world or the narrow individuality of the spirit in this world absolutely leaves the Self.
In trained Yogis, you cannot say where abstraction ends and concentration begins; where concentration ends and meditation begins; where meditation ends and Samadhi (super conscious state) begins. The moment they sit on the Asana, all the processes occur simultaneously with electric or lightning speed and they enter Samadhi at their conscious will. In the neophytes, abstraction first takes place. Then concentration begins. Then meditation slowly commences. Before Samadhi manifests, their minds, getting impatient and tired, drop down. Constant and intense practice, with light but nutritious food, will bring about sanguine success in getting Samadhi.
SAVIKALPA SAMADHI AND NIRVIKALPA SAMADHI
The ground floor represents the life of passion in the sense-universe. The first storey corresponds to Savikalpa Samadhi. The second storey is tantamount to Nirvikalpa Samadhi. The third storey represents the liberation of emodied Soul. The moving of a bullock cart can be compared to Savikalpa Samadhi. It stops. This is Nirvikalpa Samadhi. The bulls are detached. This is liberation. When the Yogi has reached the last perfect stage of meditation and Samadhi, the fire whereof burns surely all the residue of his actions, he at once gets Liberation (Jivanmukti) in this very life.
In Savikalpa Samadhi, there is Triputi or the triad— Dhyata (the meditator), Dhyana (meditation) and Dhyeya (object of meditation). In Nirvikalpa Samadhi, this Triputi vanishes (Triputirahita). Nirvikalpa means “free from all sorts of modifications and imaginations.” The mind completely melts in Supreme. The happiness or bliss that you get in Savikalpa Samadhi is termed Rasasvada. This is also an obstacle for further spiritual progress. It makes you stop here. It cannot liberate you. You must further march onwards to attain the highest Nirvikalpa state wherein lies your whole freedom.

Samadhi – What is it?

When the mind is completely absorbed in one object of meditation, it is termed Samadhi. The mind identifies itself with the object of meditation. In Samadhi, there is neither meditation nor meditator. The meditator and meditated, the thinker and the thought, the worshipper and the worshipped become one or identical. The triad vanishes.
The mind loses its own consciousness and becomes identical with the object of meditation. The meditator has dissolved his personality in the sea of God, drowned and forgotten there till he becomes simply the instrument of God. When his mouth opens, it speaks Gods words without effort or forethought through direct intuition and, when he raises his hand, God flows again through that to work a miracle.
In Samadhi, there is neither seeing nor hearing. There is neither physical nor mental consciousness. There is only spiritual consciousness. There is only Existence (Sat). That is your real nature. When the water dries up in a pool, the reflection of the sun in the water also vanishes. When the mind melts in Supreme, when the mind-lake dries up, the reflected Chaitanya also vanishes. The Embodied Soul (personality) goes away. There remains Existence alone.
Turiya is the spiritual condition where there is no play of mind, where the mind is dissolved in Supreme. It is the fourth dimension, where there is infinite supreme bliss. It is not a condition of inertia, forgetfulness or annihilation. It is a state of absolute consciousness which baffles all attempts at description. It is the final goal of all. It is Mukti. It is Moksha or Nirvana.
Generally, when you have what you call dreamless sleep, it is one of two things; either you do not remember what you dreamt of or you fell into absolute unconsciousness which is almost death a taste of death. But, there is the possibility of a sleep in which you enter into an absolute silence, immortality and peace in all parts of your being and your consciousness merges into Satchidananda (Truth-Consciousness-Bliss). You can hardly call it sleep, for there is perfect “awareness.” In that condition, you can remain for a few minutes or hours or days; but, these few minutes give you more rest and refreshment than hours of ordinary sleep. You cannot have it by chance. It requires a long training.
Samadhi is not a stone-like inert state as many people imagine. A life in the spirit (Soul or Divine) is not annihilation. When the self is bound down to its empirical accidents, its activities are not fully exercised and, when the limitations of the empirical existence are transcended, the universal life is intensified and you have enrichment of Self. You will have a rich inner life. You will have an expanded cosmic life and supra-cosmic life, too.

The Soul...

Bliss is the essential nature of man. The central fact of man's being is his inherent divinity.
Man's essential nature is divine, the awareness of which he has lost because of his animal propensities and the veil of ignorance. Man, in his ignorance, identifies himself with the body, mind, Prana and the senses. Transcending these, he becomes one with Soul or the Absolute who is pure bliss.
Soul or the Absolute is the fullest reality, the completest consciousness. That beyond which there is nothing, that which is the innermost Self of all is Soul or Spirit or Brahman. The Soul is the common Consciousness in all beings. All beings have the same common Soul.
There is apparent, fictitious difference in bodies and minds only. There are differences in colors and opinions. But, the Soul is the same in all. If you are very rich, you can have a steamer, a train, an airship of your own for your own selfish interests. But, you cannot have an Soul of your own. The Soul is common to all. It is not an individual's sole registered property. The Soul is the one amidst the many. It is constant amidst the forms which come and go. It is the pure, absolute, essential Consciousness of all the conscious beings. The source of all life, the source of all knowledge is the Soul, thy innermost Self. This Soul or Supreme Soul is transcendent, inexpressible, unthinkable, indescribable, the ever-peaceful, all-blissful.
There is no difference between the Soul and bliss. The Soul is bliss itself. God, perfection, peace, immortality, bliss are one. The goal of life is to obtain perfection, immortality or God. The nearer one approaches the Truth, the happier one becomes. For, the essential nature of Truth is positive, absolute bliss. There is no bliss in the finite. Bliss is only in the Infinite. Eternal bliss can be had only from the eternal Self.
To know the Self is to enjoy eternal bliss and everlasting peace. Self-realization bestows eternal existence, absolute knowledge, and perennial bliss. None can be saved without Self-realization.
Oneness of Self or oneness of Existence is Reality, and the realization of this Reality is Moksha or Nirvana or Liberation. Moksha is the breaking down of the barriers that constitute separate existence. Moksha is the absolute state of Being, where the unity of all-pervading and all-permeating consciousness is realized with certainty, like that of an orange which we see in our palm. Moksha is not an attainment of liberation from an actual state of bondage, but is the realization of the liberation which already exists. It is freedom from the false notion of bondage.
The individual soul feels itself to be in bondage on account of ignorance caused by the power of delusion. When the false belief caused by delusion is removed by Knowledge of Soul, the state of Moksha is realized then and there, in this very life. It is not to follow after death. The cause of delusion is the desire in man. The desires generate the thought-waves, and the thought-waves veil the real nature of the Soul which is blissful, immortal, and eternal. When the desires are annihilated, Knowledge of Self dawns!

Who Am I?

We often ask that question in our youth. Overtime, many of us begin to really enjoy the quest of “finding ourselves”, so much so we never stop looking…is there something to that?
Perhaps some of us are consistently looking outward to find ourselves in an attempt to never look within.
We are all nothing but a human Soul in the Universe.
The person who plays a pivotal role in the family is often called 'Soul of the family'. Nothing can happen without the permission of the 'head of the family'. So is the case with the soul in our body. When the 'head' of the family departs the family mourns and feels the extreme vacuum. Similarly, when the soul leaves the body, it cannot think, speak, see, move, eat, digest, grow.... or live. The soul governs and directs our being. The concept of soul can be easily understood with a simple definition. In a room there is a fan, an electric heater, a refrigerator and a bulb, all fitted and connected to the switchboard. However, without electricity these gadgets cannot work Similarly, without the soul, the body is a corpse. Moreover, the electricity cannot be seen except through the lit bulbs or through moving fans etc. Similarly, the soul being consciousness, identified with super-consciousness, exquisitely subtle, cannot be seen but experienced and realized. This power in an individual is the human soul or Jivatma. When it is universal consciousness or Supreme Soul, it is called Paramatman. However, it should be clearly understood that for electricity which lights up a zero power bulb or 1000 watt halogen bulb, the source of energy is the same; only the consumption and performance differ. Likewise individual and cosmic souls are inseparable entities.
The difference between the animate and inanimate is the consciousness or chaitanya. The five sense organs are the soul's agents or windows to obtain knowledge and to gauge the subtle aspect of any given thing. For example, to see, we have eyes but who sees is the soul. For hearing, we have ears but it is the soul that hears. This journey from gross to subtle with consciousness is the play of the soul. If this consciousness departs from the body it becomes a corpse. This is the relation between the soul and the body. The soul is the pivotal hinge whereupon the body functions with consciousness or chaitanya.
What is the nature of soul?
The Bhagavat Gita says: "Arjuna! Ishwara resides in the heart of the all creatures, causing them to revolve according to their karma by His illusive power." The human body is made of perishable elements and therefore impermanent in nature, but the power that dwells within is imperishable; is eternal. It is to be remembered that the real self is part of that super-soul that is never born nor dies and is eternal. The body after death return "unto dust" and the soul meets the cosmic soul or Paramatman. Merger of the pure individual soul with the cosmic soul is the sole aim of human life. The body is ours but we are not the body. We are an inseparable part of the supreme. Just as a grain of sand is sand or a drop of water is water, likewise part of Paramatman is Jivatma. We are eternal. Yet, the body has four states and remains perishable. Childhood, youth and old age are seen as states of our body but not the state of our soul. Moreover there is a fourth state called death. The Souls is simply the seer for whom there is no fear of death! The soul is eternal truth that is immortal and imperishable. The soul is pure and sacred. The soul is embodiment of all knowledge.
What is Karmic philosophy?
Karmic philosophy declares that actions punctuated with raga dwesha (likes and dislikes), delusions, jealousy, ego etc are the binding agents whereas selfless actions break the bondage and pave the path for liberation from the karmic field of birth and rebirth. The biggest cause of karmic bondage is maya (illusion) which is play of the mind.
Mind attached to the world is the sole cause of bondage and the same mind when attached or devoted to the supreme reality becomes the source of emancipation. Moksha (salvation) is nothing but getting rid of ignorance: "I am my body; I am sense organs or indriyium; I am Brahman; I am poor; I am a scholar; I am intelligent; these are my enemies/friends...." These 'reality labels' need to be removed. Furthermore, if we try to ignore the ego: "I have done/achieved this" etc then we can realize the 'pure self' of Jivatma... When the bondage of ignorance is unknotted the soul appears in its purest original form. This is moksha!
If the soul is immortal and pure then why do we behave aberrant?
This can be explained through a story: Four intellectuals of Mathura decided set out for Prayag by boat. They boarded the boat as evening caved in and were in a great hurry to reach Prayag. They rowed all night taking turns with the oars. At daybreak they thought they had reached their destination. Someone on the banks of the river shouted a greeting, "Jai Radhey, Jai Radhey!" then asked, "Why are you people perspiring so much?" The intellectuals answered, "We have been rowing all night in order to reach Prayag at daybreak." The person on the banks of the river said, "But this is not Prayag! This is Mathura! You have not untied the anchor!" This anchor rope is nothing but ignorance (Deha-abhiman). It keeps us tightly tied to the world and hence we remain devoid of divinity and divine behaviour which results in aberrant deeds.
Our soul is ever free of bondage but our body as 'doer' invites the bondage. Due to our ignorance, our karmic aspects remain worldly and we are unable to break the cycle of birth and re-birth.
When we are free of ignorance and we establish our real being our soul form, the tendency to do wrong deeds vanishes. Samskaras(subtle impressions) are reduced to ashes.
Once a person realizes his divine nature he serves all, seeing divinity in all. This is Parabhakti - pinnacle of knowledge -- when a person sees the lord in all. He becomes an embodiment of love and service.
If individuals carry the same soul then why are some wicked and some good?
Soul is like energy, like electricity which, when made to pass through a filament lights the lamp. Similarly, Soul energy flows through an individual's accumulated samskaras thus producing different manifestations and results. However, the energy, meaning the Soul, does not get altered at all.
A guru asks his student, "Bring 1000 pots and fill them with water. See the moon's reflection in all the pots. In muddy water, it is not clear, it is also not clear in rippling water, but it's clear in clean, still water. So is Soul in different beings.
If there is one Soul in all, then when a person dies why do I not die as well?
Break one pot, the reflection of the moon disappears but it is visible in the remaining pots. When an electric bulb breaks it does not mean that the flow of power ceases, Similarly, with the death of a body, the Soul remains.
Our individual Soul is the immortal and spiritual body of light that animates life and reincarnates again and again until all necessary karmas are created and resolved and its essential unity with God is fully realized. Our Soul is God’s emanation creation, the source of all our higher function, including knowledge creation, the source of all our higher functions, including knowledge, will and love. Our Soul is neither male or female. It is that which never dies, even when its four outer sheaths change form and perish as they naturally do.
What is maya (delusion)?
At the karmic level one suffers from all kinds of delusions or maya and one is unable to distinguish between 'real' and 'unreal'. A story goes that once a daughter of a king lost a valuable necklace at the bottom of a pond. When they tried to retrieve it only mud came out. Every one was perplexed. A saint standing amidst the crowd of onlookers intervened. He explained that the necklace, lifted by a bird, was actually hanging on the branch of a tree and what they were seeing was its reflection in the waters of the pond! Similarly our bodies are merely shadows of the real blissful eternal happiness - which one can achieve by realizing that he is soul and not the body. All pervading existence in the form of Soul dwells in the bodies of all beings.
How does one awaken divinity?
Through constant remembrance. When a devotee believes that Paramatman (Supreme soul) is the sole doer, the controller and director of his life and that he is simply an instrument in his hands, he spiritualities all his impulses and this makes all his actions divine. Karma yoga is the way for a householder to meet the Supreme Being. It means non attachment with karma i.e. not craving for the fruits of a deed. The objective of a karma yogi should be like a cobra which has become poison-less or a roasted seed that cannot sprout. And, attachment to the Paramatman, is the key to success for any karma yogi.
How to attain liberation?
One must have a craving for liberation as a drowning man swims to save his life.
He must consider the world as an act/play and a place for serving humanity.
He must be of the firm conviction that everything belongs to the Supreme.
He must rise above duality and attachments to worldly pleasures.
He must dispel ignorance or false knowledge.
He must be in constant remembrance of the divine.
He must develop fervent love for the divine and all beings.
He must understand that there is only one Doer and one Cosmic Mind and he must surrender or merge his mind with the Cosmic Mind.
Maharishi Vyas concludes that I and mine (restless, unstable mind) is the cause of bondage while Thou and Thine (steady, calm mind) is the solitary means of attaining liberation. When the mind stops agitating and wandering, it ceases to exist, then the soul manifests.
I hope this might have answered your questions.

One GOD, One Religion of Humanity

Soul
A living being cannot exist without consuming the body of another life. Even the single sensed lives are living by consuming the decayed body of another life. Living beings are classified as one to six senses, but they are not equal. There are variations amongst them. These variations are identified through their physic. The variations amongst the living beings from the first to sixth sense reveal their inequality (discrimination). The single sensed tree and the five sensed animal and the six sensed man are not equal.
In the development of Dravidian religions there are explications about soul and God. Dravidians are the cultured, religious people who are well-developed in their reasoning ability and who have spiritual thoughts and religions. Offshoots of the development of Dravidian thoughts are the Ahimsa principle, Vegetarianism, the noble thought such as 'Every country is my country and all are my kith and kin' and the principle of rendering good for evil and the spiritual ideologies. Hence, Jainism, Buddhism and the Six-fold religion are developed as the offshoots of the Dravidian thinking and culture. Ahimsa, non-killing and showing love towards others have become the foundational doctrines of the religions mentioned above.
Man alone is unique amongst the creatures and he is the crown of all creation. Hence, in the book of Genesis in the Bible, it is explicated that man was not created like other creatures, but was created in the image of God Himself with soul.
All living beings except human beings are classified into five groups as having one to five senses, but man alone is isolated from all other living beings because of his soul which is the root cause for sixth sense, that is his thinking ability and power of discernment of holy and evil.
This human soul is connected with God, the Universal Soul since it was created in the image of God, the Universal Soul. The man with soul can overcome the natural law. He brings down the whole animal world into his dominion, and sixth sense is the root cause for his supremacy and soul is the root cause for the sixth sense.
Since man has soul and power of discernment which is superior to the natural instinct, he is able to empower the nature that includes the living beings which have one to five senses. There is inequality in nature i.e., amongst the living beings which have one to five senses there is inequality. But, there is no inequality amongst human beings since they have soul which has no inequality.
It is explained that, the inequality amongst the living beings that have one to five senses are reflected through their physical structure. But, the variation in the physical appearance of human beings are not because of the soul, but because of their environment.
According to their circumstances men are white or black in color or with height and weight and variations are seen in their physical level. These differences are owing to their environment and food habits and not because of soul.
In the snake species, there are many classes according to their color, length and weight. These classes can be grouped into one species. If it is considered that the human beings are like the snake species in which there are so many classes, it would be a wrong conception.
For an example, Python and Cobra belong to different classes though they come under snake species and they can not be united together, and they can not jointly bring forth the young ones, since they are totally two different classes in one snake species.
Human Vs Universal Soul
Human Souls: They take human bodies and experience birth, life and death.
Universal Soul: Never comes into the cycle of birth and death.
Human Souls: They are subject to change and the dualities of pleasure and pain, growth and decay, happiness and sorrow.
Universal Soul: Changeless. The One beyond the above dualities.
Human Souls: They remember and then forget their original pure nature.
Universal Soul: God is always the ocean of knowledge; he does not come in the cycle of remembering and forgetting.
Human Souls: They are seekers of peace and happiness.
Universal Soul: God is the One whom everyone seeks (longs for). He is the bestow-er (giver) of peace and happiness to everyone.
Human Souls: They have physical bodies.
Universal Soul: God's form is incorporeal (point of spiritual energy).
Human Souls: They cannot liberate humanity.
Universal Soul: God is the up-lifter of all.
Human Souls: They become impure through body-consciousness.
Universal Soul: God is the purifier.
Human Souls: They are caught up by the present, have distorted (misunderstood) knowledge of the past (since they come in the process of birth and rebirth) and no accurate knowledge of the future.
Universal Soul: God is the knower of the three aspects of time (past, present and future).
Human Souls: They lose their power and become weak.
Universal Soul: God is the constant and external source of all spiritual power for all human souls.
Human Souls: They are brothers and sisters.
Universal Soul: God is the Father and Mother.
Human Souls: They come into greed, lust and attachment.
Universal Soul: God is bondage-less (free), the liberator of all, including the sages, saints, holy teachers and gurus. He doesn’t succumb to the vices.
Human Souls: They become worshipers.
Universal Soul: God is ever worthy of being worshiped.
Human Souls: They have desires based on bodily needs, name and fame.
Universal Soul: God is completely desire less and selfless.
Human Souls: They are takers.
Universal Soul: God is the giver, He takes nothing.
One Family
However, a man of any color who may belong to any race, nation or language, can be joined together with a woman who is in the another extreme corner of the world and who may be entirely different from that man in all the above said descriptions. They would lead a happy life and multiply. Hence, the differences mentioned above are merely external differences that is in the physical level and not the inward differences that is in soul level. Hence the human society is one family and God is father of all human beings.
Belief in the race and the caste discrimination reveals one's ignorance of the knowledge about soul and universal brotherhood.
One GOD, One Religion of Humanity
